The Little White Sack by Misty Malone

Garrett Knowling was just doing a bit of fishing as he headed west to stake a claim, when two riders approached, acting strangely. Garrett stayed out of sight as he watched them bury something in the ground before hightailing away. Curious, he dug up a small white sack filled with money and jewelry. He took it to the nearest house, where he found three scared women living alone on the frontier, one of them sick, after the death of the husband of one of them. He couldn’t just leave them there, needing help, knowing those two riders could return for their sack of possibly ill-gotten gains. He ran to town to fetch both the sheriff and the doctor, which set his feet on a path of danger, adventure, and romance.
